If you haven't already, please join the Google Classroom. Here's the link: Please let me know if you want to be an actor or crew member. If you want to be an actor please take a look at the script and if there is a specific part that you are interested in let me know using the contact page on this website. I was hoping to hold auditions yesterday, but with the amount of students there, plus some technical difficulties, we weren't able to run auditions exactly how I wanted to, but that's okay. I would still like to cast the movies this week and be able to do a read through next week.

Auditions are tomorrow in the gym. If you haven't joined the Google Classroom, yet, you need to do that if you want to be considered for a part. The movies that we are going to do are "Who, Me? Yes, You!" and "The Enchanted Bookshop". Please take a look at those scripts on Google Classroom. If you can't make it to auditions, let me know and we can work out a different time for you to audition.
I'm pushing auditions back a week, because I expect more students to join on Friday and we need more time to read the scripts. I posted the entire scripts on Google Classroom, instead of just samples, so make sure to check that out. I'm still scouring the internet for more scripts that will fit our need and I'll be posting them to the Google Classroom as I find them. So far, I'm leaning towards the show "Who, Me? Yes, You!". I haven't made a final decision, though. Please bring your signed media release form to the meeting on Friday, if you haven't turned it in, yet. I've already gotten a few orders and the support is wonderful. We're about a 3rd of the way to reaching our budget goal, so keep up the good work. I'll attach the media release form to this post, so you can download it and print it if you don't have one already. I'm also attaching an updated timeline, due to the fact that auditions will be next week instead of this week. Auditions will be on September 24th. I'll have you get into groups and read through a scene of the play. Everyone will read the same scene, so just because you are reading a certain character during auditions, doesn't necessarily mean that is the character you will be cast as. I'll explain more about how auditions will work on Friday. See you then! Wow! What a great turnout to the drama club meeting today. We had about 35 students! I know we had kids that had to leave a little early for Altar Server training or sports, and I'm totally fine with that. Today we looked at the website and the timeline. We discussed maybe doing the play that we were going to do a couple years ago before the school shut down due to COVID. That's a possibility, but I will be reading through scripts this weekend now that I know how many people to cast for. I will let you know what script we are doing on Monday after we've discussed it (via the Google Classroom). Click the button below for the invite link to the Google Classroom. This link will only work with your school account. Please check this website regularly for updates and don't forget to order something from the store. Have a great weekend! I'm super excited about starting Drama Club and I can't wait to start production on our feature film!
I'm dedicated to making this a professional production. I know the students will benefit from being part of a high quality cinematic experience. I do need your help to make this a reality. Please visit the Store page on this website to see what equipment we need and how you can contribute as a producer. I've attached a vague timeline to this post, to give you an idea of the deadlines I would like to meet. Once the script is chosen I will post another one with specific scenes we'll be working on each week. |
